Quoting Wyvern from the first post: “Magelight is my art and my business. Magelight is also this website, which features the art of my photography.”
Wyvern Aldinger was born in a small town in the rugged, untamed backdrops Wyoming. He grew up sharing his time between programming computers and exploring the high desert plateaus where he learned the secret languages of wind, ice, and sunlight.
In 2000 he graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s in Computer Engineering. For an illustrious ten years he built a number of technologies first at Microsoft then later at Google. He patented several inventions and proudly created even more trade secrets.
But the lure of the wild called him back. Setting down his keyboard, Wyvern turned in 2010 to his long-time interest of photography and started treating on his art.
Wyvern is a photographer who can shoot a 10-stop HDR at night with off-camera flash, code his own software in C++ and Python, weld a steel frame together, sew a garment, and show you the basics of a couple different martial arts. He displays his photographer’s business license on the same wall as his computer engineering degree and certificate as a registered shaman.
His photographic specialties are male portraiture, landscape, and fursuit fashion. He describes himself as “the only working furry fashion photographer in the world.”
Wyvern lives in the Seattle area with his eclectic pack of a husband, two dogs, and a cat.
